Application Profile - a tool for controlled licensing of application programs in Tecomatech

The application profile is a procedure and tool supported by the firmware of the central modules of the Foxtrot and TC700 series Tecomats for controlled licensing of the running of selected programs and function blocks on a specific central module. This tool is used e.g. for the so called Single License Mosaic, where the application profile is used instead of the HW USB key in a specific Tecomat. At the end of the year, we extended the possibility to upload the key not only at the production site but at the customer's site.

Application profiles are not supported on TC-650 systems, on TC700 systems the application profile cannot be used with CP-7002, CP-7003 and CP-7005 processor modules.

An application profile is a form of license that is required to run certain libraries and programs on a specific Tecomat PLC base module. This license is always specific to a particular PLC and is stored in the PLC. As standard, the PLC is delivered without application profiles. These must be ordered separately. If the order of the application profile is part of the PLC order, then the application profile will be stored in the specific PLC directly in the production plant of Teco a.s. and the delivered PLC will be equipped with
ordered application profiles.
To store the application profile in the Foxtrot PLC, the PLC firmware must be at least v7.3 and the version of the system web pages must be 1.9 or higher. Application profiles are not supported on TC-650 systems, on TC700 systems the application profile cannot be used with CP-7002, CP-7003 and CP-7005 processor modules.

The application profile can also be retrofitted to an already supplied PLC system. In this case, it is necessary to include the serial number and type of the central unit for which the application profile is to be used in the application profile order. It is also necessary to specify the e-mail address to which the file with the required application profile will be sent. This file can then be saved to the PLC system via the system web page (see instructions in the manual).
